Should Tall Girls Wear High Heels?

Ok, so i'm 5'10 and its my prom soon. I don't know if I can get away with wearing high heels? If I wear kitten heels, they'll look granny-ish and i'll be 6'0.... i'm the tallest in my year (all girls) but we double up with a boys school and I have no idea if i'd be towering over all of them or not? Wearing flat shoes makes your legs look stumpier and with a short dress heels look better..what should i do?! Can tall girls wear high heels...should they?
