What's a good insect for a science project? PLEASE HELP!?

Praying mantis! a pet store where i live gave them away for free during spring due to so many babies aka nymphs, but you just feed adult mantis crickets, meal worms, etc every few days when they're hungry, mist the cage daily for water, they shed once a month or so. the females kill the male after or during breeding so It'd be a one time thing or maybe try crickets? They're cheap and easy haha.
